Golf is a game 600 years old and is one of the most popular sports in the world. The beginnings of golf in Croatia date from 1927, when golf club Zagreb was founded in Zagreb.

In Zagreb's Maksimir park a golf course was built in 1931, with nine holes until the early nineties there weren’t any games held there and courses were used for other purposes.

If you choose to engage in golf, in order to play on the course you have to go through school, pass the exam and deserve a handicap and it is necessary to invest a lot of time. The only problem is that in Croatia, golf courses and driving ranges are almost non-existent. However, there are over 43 golf clubs in the country. The fact is that Croatia does not have enough golf courses, although many Croats are interested in this sport. Croatia has a climatic predisposition to develop into a sustainable golf oriented country.
